Delete your data

You can remove Mercat’s access to your Instagram or Facebook Page at any time, and ask us to delete the data we hold.
If you run a shop on Mercat
- Stop new messages: in Mercat, open Settings → Inbox and press Disconnect. We delete the Page’s access token at once.
- Remove Mercat on Facebook: in Facebook, open Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations, choose Mercat and remove it.
- Delete everything: the shop owner can close the shop from Settings → Close shop. After 30 days all its data is permanently deleted.
- Delete only your Instagram and Messenger data, or your own account: email us from your account’s email address. We confirm within 7 days and finish within 30 days.
If you messaged a shop that uses Mercat
Your messages belong to that shop. Ask the shop to erase your details: the owner can erase a customer in Mercat, which deletes their conversations and files.
You can also email us with your Instagram username or Facebook name and the shop’s name. We will pass the request to the shop and make sure it is done.
What we keep
Subscription invoices and payments, which the law requires us to keep, and a minimal record of a closed shop (name, handle, dates). Nothing from your conversations.
